Tony Masters (of Earth-1610), better known as Taskmaster, is a mercenary that was hired by the Roxxon Corporation to capture Cloak and Dagger.
History[]
The origin and backstory of Tony is mostly unknown, except that he is a mercenary that has the ability to copy a person's powers and abilities simply by touching them.
Tony was hired by Donal Roxxon to capture two of his Brain Trust's escaped Guinea pigs , Cloak and Dagger. However, during his search, Taskmaster stumbled upon the new Spider-Man, Spider-Woman and Bombshell, who he swiftly incapacitated.
Spider-Man managed to heal and fight back, and Spider-Woman joined him for a fight against Taskmaster. During the battle they found that Taskmaster had the ability to duplicate the powers of anyone has touched him. Cloak and Dagger soon joined the fight, and Taskmaster was knocked neutralized after Cloak absorbed him inside his body.

- Power Mimicry: Tony can duplicate the powers and abilities of anyone that makes any kind of physical contact with him (if he is hit with super-strength, he can use it, if he is hit by energy beams, he can blast energy, etc.). It appears that he also has an unknown level of durability to handle these powers upon first being hit with them for the first time.
