Avengers Disassembled was a comic book crossover event published by Marvel Comics from August 2004 to January 2005. The event saw the beginning of Brian Michael Bendis' run as the head writer for the main Avengers comic book series and the disbanding of Marvel's premiere superhero team following many of the group's key members quitting the team to go into exile.
