Back in Black[]
While Mary Jane attempts to call 911, Peter believes that she'll die before they get there so he swings out as Peter Parker and delivers Aunt May to a hospital.
The next day, Peter meets Mary Jane in an alley to tell her that Aunt May's condition is stable, but is not getting any better as Peter continues to blame him for the near death of his aunt.
After Peter tells Mary Jane to book Aunt May in her maiden name and sign every piece of paper she needs to, he swings off in an attempt to find the person that shot Aunt May.
After webbing up an officer to get to some evidence, he takes it to some crooks late at night making quick work of all of them, in an attempt to get more clues as to who was the sniper.
Peter comes face to face with a man to ask him what he knows about the evidence he has. Peter breaks his hand that tells the man to tell Peter a name and an address or else.
Jumping back to Mary Jane, the doctor tells her that Aunt May is in a coma. He goes on to say that the machines are doing all they can, but due to Aunt May's age, her body can not pick up the slack to heal properly and they she will eventually die.
Meanwhile in the rain, Peter goes to a very high part of a building to receive something, something he says he stopped using because it sent the wrong message. However, he says that he kept it one day in case he wanted to send that message again. He undoes the web the item is in to reveal the cloth version of the symbiote costume Black Cat made him long ago, and continues by saying that once he finds the person that shot Aunt May, he will kill them.
The Gloves Are Off []
After putting on the costume, Peter is on the phone with Mary Jane who tells him that it is all up to Aunt May to make the recovery, should her body choose to. Peter swings off in the black costume ready to find the person who shot Aunt May.
Peter finds a man who doesn't give him information, telling him that he's not going to do anything about it. Peter throws the man out the window, only to catch him at the last second by his toe with webbing. Peter then asks again, and receives three names, only one matters to Peter, "Jake Martino".
Peter then webs up two police men's path in order to use their car to use a computer inside to find more details on Jake Martino.
Peter finds an address with an older man who says he saw him fighting with Captain America on television. The man tells Peter that Jake does live here and pays his rent on time and in cash, but only recently left with bags for the train station. As Peter leaves for the train station, the man says two other men were here also looking Jake.
At the train station, Peter finds Jake as he is running. Peter catches up and break his arm as the man tries to shoot him. He asks Peter for the man who hired him as he is about to say something, he is shot by someone else who gets away right before Peter tags him with a spider-tracer.
Peter rides follows him to the hospital where he dies. Peter then catches up to the man he stuck the spider-tracer on and webs him mouth up, taking the phone from him. Before the man attempts to hang up, Peter realizes the voice is Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. Fisk asks Spider-Man what can he do for him with Peter telling that he can die.
A King's Ransom[]
Meanwhile in jail, Wilson Fisk pulls out a bag full of money to offer to the various people holding him there in an exchange to get out early.
Meanwhile, back with Peter he agrees not to kill the man since Kingpin only used him, but wants to make an example. He puts the man upside down in a sewer with rats about to slowly chew on him until Peter lets him go telling him and all his friends that Peter Parker's family is off limits.
In regular clothing, Peter returns to the hospital to see that Aunt May still has not made any progress. Mary Jane also tells him that they keep paying with cash to keep Aunt May in a private room and extra care from the hospital. Peter tells her that he will get more money, but Mary Jane cuts him off saying that eventually they will draw attention to Aunt May, which will draw attention to Peter and Mary Jane and they will all eventually be in more danger.
Peter transfers some of his blood and then leaves Mary Jane for the prison Wilson Fisk is in. Both get dressed with Fisk in his classic white threads with Peter as Spider-Man in his black costume. Both arrive in the middle of the prison floor with Peter saying that now it is between him and Spider-Man and it all ends now.
Fisk v. Parker[]
As Spider-Man, Peter arrives in the prison as Fisk calls Peter a "chump" for believing in the greater good and taunts Peter about nearly killing Aunt May. Spider-Man doesn't say anything except for hitting Fisk a few times. Spider-Man then takes off his mask and upper part of the suit saying that Spider-Man isn't here to kill Wilson Fisk, but Peter Parker is.
Peter begins beating Fisk to near death stating that Fisk never had any real power. Fisk enraged, attacks Peter with Peter dodging Fisk's attacks with ease. With his suit torn and bloody, Peter picks Fisk up telling him that he could web up Fisk's throat and lungs with the only way to save Fisk would be to cut out his lungs, which would not be done before he dies from lack of oxygen. After counting to three, he throws Fisk against a wall telling him that he did better than kill him, he beat him and everyone in the prison saw so and will tell their friends. Peter however, does make it clear that if Aunt May does die, he will come back for him and kill him, telling the prisoners that if they go after his family, they will experience the same beating that Fisk got.
Mary Jane talks with Peter tell him that they might have to move Aunt May to another hospital that isn't eating up all their money as fast. Peter doesn't want to do this, so Mary Jane tells Peter that he will have to wait.
All We Can Do Is Wait[]
Peter chats with Aunt May all night, hoping she'll wake up and talk to him.
The next day, Peter steals a complete blood test folder on Aunt May which tells Peter that his stronger, radioactive blood didn't help Aunt May in any way. Meanwhile, the hospital reverend arrives, and asks Mary Jane if they have any plans for a funeral.
Later in the day, a second printed report is given to a police officer named Lieutenant Detective Robert Delint by the head nurse. They have a little talk about the missing first report that Peter stole, the new radiation in May's blood, and Mary Jane paying in cash only.
Delint goes up to May's room and Peter, sensing him with his spider-sense, hides out of sight. Mary Jane greets Delint and before he can get any details, all the lights go out, except for the equipment keeping the hospitalized people alive. Peter appears in the dark and knocks Delint out with one punch.
With Delint suspicious, Peter and Mary Jane realize that they have to transfer Aunt May as soon as possible. Peter then finds himself breaking nine different laws in order to transfer his aunt, which has him thinking how lost he is and how he can really go to jail because his fingerprints are everywhere.
