Ben Reilly is the second Spider-Man of Earth-19529.
History[]
Ben was a clone of Spider-Man created by Norman Osborn to be his heir. Ben was almost killed by the Black Goblin but was saved by Spider-Man. Deciding to call himself "Ben Parker", Ben married the clone of Gwen Stacy who now called herself Helen Parker. At some point they split up, and Ben moved to Chicago and assumed the new identity of Ben Reilly (and the secret identity of Scarlet Spider aka "The Red Mask"). He was kidnapped by Doctor Octopus so that the villain could use his DNA to reverse engineer a clone. Norman Osborn manipulated the DNA scans so that it looked like Ben was the real Peter Parker. When he escaped from Doctor Octopus, Ben met with Peter, who had decided to quit being Spider-Man and told Ben to live his life as the real Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Ben lived as Peter Parker for years until his death at the hands of Morlun.
