Cassie St. Commons was a Goth college student who was invited to wear the Dusk costume, a shadowy suit Spider-Man wore when he was framed for murder. Dusk was just beginning as a member of the Slingers when she died trying to make a rooftop leap as part of her initiation into the superhero team. However death wasn't the end of her story, Cassie was reborn as a ghostly being of living shadows. Neither living nor dead, Dusk used her supernatural powers to help her teammates until the Slingers disbanded.
