Cletus Kasady (of Earth-TRN376) also known as Carnage, is the final boss in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game.
History[]
Early life[]
Not much is know about his early life, except that Cletus, also known as the Carnage Killer, is a violent vigilante who kills "criminals" who commit, in his eyes, treacherous acts. He slaughters his victims brutally and always leaves his initials "CK" at the crime scene. It may be his intention for the initials to be Cletus Kasady, but everyone in New York knows him as the Carnage Killer.
Rise of Carnage []
When Spider-Man first encounters Cletus, he is learning from Kraven how to become the ultimate hunter. Cletus has a man cornered, ready to kill him because the man witnessed a murder but didn't report it in. When Kraven refuses to help, Spider-Man interferes. Cletus explains he's doing the city a favor by crossing the line Spider-Man refuses to cross. A fight ensues and Spider-Man defeats Cletus, sending him off to the Ravencroft institute.
At the institute, Cletus has Project Venom tested on him, which has dangerous results. It turns out that Project Venom is a living symbiote that gives it's host enhanced abilities. When Cletus is overcome by the symbiote, he infects and releases all the inmates in Ravencroft. He leads a path of destruction through Ravencroft as he seeks to destroy NYC. Meanwhile, Spider-Man fights the infected inmates and Task Force at the Ravencroft entrance.
When Spider-Man finally catches up to Cletus, he easily defeats Cletus despite the symbiote inside him now. Spider-Man asks Cletus why he is doing all this, which Cletus replies by saying that he loves the destruction. Spider-Man tells him he's wrong, saying that he only does it because he wishes he had a family growing up. Cletus questions Spider-Man on why he doesn't kill, telling him that he knows Spider-Man wants to kill him, that it's what he must do.
Cletus explains that the only difference between them is that Cletus is doing what Spider-Man refuses to do. Upon this, the symbiote engulfs Cletus, turning him into a terrifying creature that can only be known as "Carnage". A battle ensues, but by using fire, Spider-Man manages to defeat Carnage. Cletus is left burnt badly, but alive. The symbiote leaves him as he loses consciousness.
Spider-Man faces off against Carnage
In the end, Cletus is returned to Ravencroft.
