— Venom

Edward Brock, Jr. (of Earth-96283), also known as Venom, is the one of the antagonists in Spider-Man 3.

History[]

Eddie was trying to take pictures of Peter's alter ego but failed numerous times, he was out beaten by Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who took his job

Eddie Brock is a new Daily Bugle photographer who competes with Peter Parker.

He has a habit of sucking up to his boss J. Jonah Jameson and unsuccessfully flirting with Jameson's secretary Betty Brant.

Eddies produces a "photo" showing Spider-Man robbing a bank. Eddie has obviously done a good job on making a convincing photo and he is promoted to Staff Photographer. However, when Peter (whose dark side is shown by his black suit) finds out about this deception (The photo was made using an older one of his own), finds evidence proving the plagiarism. Naturally, Eddie is fired shortly afterwards and J. Jonah Jameson reluctantly prints a retraction (for the first time in 20 years) on Robbie Robertson's insistence.

Becoming Venom[]

Naturally, Eddie wants revenge. He arrives to a church where he wishes for Peter Parker to die before finding Peter using the church's bell to remove the Symbiote suit, which senses Eddie's revenge and it bonds with him. Brock then meets with Sandman and proposes to him an alliance to kill Spider-Man. Brock then finds Mary Jane in her car and traps her using his webs. Then Peter comes as Spider-Man though Eddie confronts him and tells he is going to kill MJ while he allows Sandman to repeatedly squish him. However, Harry Osborn comes to the rescue as the New Goblin, as the battle continues where Spider-Man kicks Venom into the construction site, but Venom finally traps him, intending to impale him with Harry's glider, but Harry bravely sacrifices himself and is impaled by his own glider. Spider-Man breaks free and recreates the church bell's noises in order to trigger Venom and have the Symbiote separate from Eddie. Spider-Man then throws one of Harry's pumpkin bombs at the Symbiote, but Brock ran back to it, and as they bonded again, the bomb exploded and killed them both.
