The Insidious Six (of Earth-92131) was a group of supervillains whose main goal was to take down Spider-Man.
History[]
After the Kingpin broke Chameleon, Scorpion, Mysterio, Shocker, Rhino and Doctor Octopus out of prison, he formed them into an evil team with the sole purpose of taking down Spider-Man.
At the time, Peter Parker was suffering from a mutation problem from his radioactive spider bite, which made him lose his powers for a while.
In the mix of trying to battle the Insidious Six, Spider-Man was defeated and they unmasked him. However, the group foolishly came to a conclusion that Peter Parker could not have been Spider-Man, and was just pretending due to his poor performance against them.
