Lee Price is the fourth main Venom Symbiote host after a tour in the Army Rangers.
History[]
Early Life[]
Born in Queens, New York, Lee Price had a rough life growing up, being bullied as a child and seeing his mother being constantly beaten up by his father. Lee befriended a mutant boy with the power of pyrokinesis, who razed the apartment complex they lived in when government agents came for him and inadvertently killed Lee's mother. lee was abandoned by his father, and taken into protective services and spent five years as a ward of the state before joining the Army Rangers. Lee was injured in a mine explosion that killed several members of his squad, which cost him two of the fingers on his left hand. Due to his injury, he registered as a disabled veteran in order to receive benefits (which did not come through) and was unable to find any employment with any domestic security firms, leaving him a desperate situation.
Becoming Venom[]
Price received a text from his childhood friend, Tony, informing him of a job, faced with eviction from his apartment, he decided to meet him. Price met Tony and Mac Gargan. Gargan, noting that Tony mentioned that Price had been an Army Ranger, offered him a job making a delivery for Black Cat's criminal organization, but was unsettled by Price's callous attitude. After delivering the package to members of Tombstone's Gang, Lee, Tony, and the accompanying members of Black Cat's Gang weren't paid for their work as Tombstone didn't want to make deals with Black Cat, leading to both sides pulling guns on each other.
Lee, who was unarmed due to Gargan's insistence the transaction would be non-violent, was about to be shot when the Venom symbiote intervened, desperately searching for a worthy host to replace its previous one. The symbiote shielded Lee from bullets, bonding to him in the process, and was initially overjoyed that its new host was a soldier. Lee overpowered the symbiote with his willpower and disregarding its outraged protests, using it to kill every member of Tombstone's gang, as well as those of Black Cat's gang. Lee imagined what he could achieve with the symbiote in his possession, Lee then killed Tony and a homeless man who had been used as a host by the symbiote to keep his transformation into Venom a secret, disposed of the corpses, and took the delivered packages for himself. Returning to his Brooklyn apartment, Lee contemplated on how to use his newly found power to his advantage.
