Lyla (of Earth-928), an acronym for LYrate Lifeform Approximation, is the personal assistant of Miguel O'Hara. Lyla assists Miguel solving problems, combating threats, and recording his personal journal entries.
In one instance, she plugged herself worldwide for news networks to access information but was overcome by 'human emotion', resulting in her failure. After her shutdown, Lyla began to act strangely, and when Miguel asked if his fiance called, she lied. Lyla continued to evade questions from Miguel after feeding misinformation and the situation escalated when she trapped Dana in the bathroom, attempting to kill her with boiling water and ordered security droids to Miguel. Once Dana was rescued, Miguel manages to shut down Lyla take her to Xina Kwan to be repaired. After Xina restore Lyla to her original programming, Miguel discovers the city's computer systems infected her with a virus and it resulted in abhorrent behavior.

Lyla can simulate or mimic human emotions despite the inability to actually experience them. Lyla is able to project holograms and has done so much more then one occasion.
