Maria Taina Elizando (of Earth-92131) was an 8 year old girl who was terminally ill. She claimed to be Spider-Man's “biggest fan”.
History[]
Meeting Spider-Man[]
During her first (and only) meeting with Spider-Man, she helped free him from the control of Doc Ock, after he was accidently hit by the Neural Neutralizer Ray that he was testing, which caused him to forget who Peter Parker (his own secret identity) was. Due to Peter not remembering who he was, Doc Ock convinced him that he was his “Partner in Crime”. Taina eventually jogged his memory, after he kidnapped for (and then shortly afterwords rescued her from) Doc Ock. Spider-Man was so greatful that he even revealed his secret identity to her, knowing that she would never reveal it.
Notes[]
Maria Taina Elizando is based off of a character from the mainstream Marvel universe named Timothy Harrison, who appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 248. He was also a child with cancer, that Spider-Man spent the day with, and revealed his secret identity to. It's currently regarded as one of the most memorable Spider-Man stories to date. Maria is of Italian or Hispanic descent.
