Biography

Early Life

Peter was born around the year 1995, to government agents Richard and Mary Parker, in Forest Hills, New York. Following the death of his parents, Peter was raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben in Queens. While in middle school, Peter became best friends with Mary Jane Watson and Harry Osborn, forming a friendship that would last into his adulthood. Peter also developed an interest in science at a young age, and he grew up idolizing the acclaimed scientist Dr. Otto Octavius.

At fifteen years old, while attending a science demonstration, Peter was bitten by a radiation-infused spider, which altered his physiology and granted him several abilities, such as enhanced strength, agility, speed, as well as a "spider-sense" that alerted him to any danger. Peter fashioned a rudimentary costume for himself out of a shirt, pants and a mask, engineered his own homemade web fluid and web-shooters, and began wrestling for money under the moniker "The Spider". At some point after this, Peter allowed a mugger to run past him without using his abilities to stop the mugger, deciding it was "not [his] problem". The criminal would go on to shoot and kill Uncle Ben, who died in his arms. Knowing that he could have prevented Ben's death had he stopped the mugger when presented with the opportunity, Peter blamed himself for the incident. Though this was traumatizing and heartbreaking, Peter carried on and began using his powers to help the people of New York, taking the lesson his Uncle Ben once taught him, that "With great power comes great responsibility", to heart.

Becoming Spider-Man

Resolving to use his powers for good, Peter designed a new suit for himself, one with a red and blue pattern and web designs, and began calling himself "Spider-Man". As New York's newest hero, he helped to stop petty crimes across the city and gained a reputation for either being a menacing vigilante or a savior to the people. Peter also took up photography in his free time, eventually landing a job as a freelance photographer with the Daily Bugle assigned to take pictures of Spider-Man in action. While the job brought in money, his pictures were often used in J. Jonah Jameson's smear campaign against the web-head. Peter quit his job at the Bugle after Jameson used Peter's photos to blame Spider-Man for a killing spree perpetrated by Electro, unable to stomach working there after being branded as a murderer. He still remembers his time there fondly, though, and the feeling is mutual if the Bugle's farewell card is any indication. Over the following eight years, Peter protected New York under his costumed alias. During this time, he had several encounters with super-criminals Electro (his first genuinely super-powered foe), Vulture, Rhino, and Scorpion, all of which abused their powers for selfish purposes. He encountered Herman Schultz (aka the Shocker) early into his career, describing his first encounter with Shocker as when "[Spider-Man] was young and stupid" and Shocker "just stupid". He managed to defeat them all and lock them up in the secure superhuman prison, the Raft. Other villains that Peter encountered included the Sandman, the Lizard, Swarm, and Mysterio. Due to his unsystematic approach to crime-fighting as a neophyte, Peter left several of his backpacks webbed to walls around the city at various points throughout his war on crime.

Peter also established a long-standing rivalry with Wilson Fisk, who ruled New York crime and, unbeknownst to Peter, a selection of the police force, as "The Kingpin". At some point, Peter learned the Kingpin's true identity, and the two had at least one physical encounter during the first eight years of Peter's career. Peter also developed an alliance with NYPD captain Yuri Watanabe; however, she remained unaware of his true identity.

In his personal life, Peter's Aunt May joined the organization F.E.A.S.T. run by Martin Li, whom Peter knew well by eight years into his career. He also entered into a relationship with Mary Jane, an aspiring reporter, who became Peter's confidant. They had a stable relationship and even planned on moving together for a while, but they broke up due to Peter's constant concern for Mary Jane's safety due to the dangers of her career as an investigative reporter. While the relationship had ended by the time Parker entered his eighth year of crime-fighting, Mary Jane was still on good terms with him. Most notably, after finishing high school, Peter attended Empire State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in biophysics. His thesis of neurotechnology earned Peter a job as a research lab assistant with Otto at Octavius Industries. At some point, Peter attended the Oscorp Science Center with Otto to find materials used for their prosthetic projects, where he had indirectly met Miles Morales and his best friend Phin Mason (who would later become the Tinkerer) while looking at some of the exhibitions. Peter explored the exhibit before needing to leave for Spider-Man duty, or, as he claimed it to be, some "personal issues".

Marvel's Spider-Man

In "The Main Event", after the NYPD obtained enough evidence to serve a warrant for Wilson Fisk's arrest, Peter made his way to Fisk Tower to help the police raid the building. Fighting his way through Fisk's men, Spider-Man manages to take Fisk down and end his reign as the Kingpin, sending him to prison. During "My OTHER Other Job", in his personal life, Peter was late for work helping Dr. Octavius demonstrate his advanced prosthetic limbs for his government financiers, who are left concerned by the demonstration's failure. In Something Old, Something New, Octavius discovered his damaged Spider-Man suit, but pretending that he thought Peter was Spider-Man's partner, helped him design and craft a new suit.

In "Don't Touch the Art", Peter encountered his ex-girlfriend, Mary Jane, investigating an auction of Fisk's goods which is then attacked by a new, supernaturally-powered gang called the Inner Demons. With Spider-Man, she learned that the Demons are seeking something called Devil's Breath. After this, in "Wheels within Wheels", Spider-Man was able to stop a Demon attack with the aid of Officer Jefferson Davis. Davis was lauded for his heroism at a re-election event for Mayor Norman Osborn, attended by Peter and Mary Jane in "And the Award Goes to...". The Demons then attack, killing Davis and many attendees. Peter witnessed their leader, Martin Li, transforming into an inverted form dubbed Mister Negative, but was knocked unconscious before he could intervene. Following the attack, Peter befriended Officer Davis's son, Miles Morales, over their loss, and convinced him to volunteer at F.E.A.S.T.

Peter and Otto continued their research in "Day to Remember", but Osborn withdrew government funding in an attempt to force Otto to work for Oscorp. This leads to Peter being unable to pay for rent and ultimately evicted from his apartment in Home Sweet Home. Meanwhile, in "Spider-Hack", Spider-Man's search for Li uncovered that Devil's Breath was a lethal and virulent bioweapon inadvertently created by Oscorp while developing a cure for genetic diseases at Osborn's behest. In "The One That Got Away", Li located and steals the only sample of Devil's Breath and threatens to release it unless Osborn surrenders to him. Li is foiled by Spider-Man and Mary Jane, Devil's Breath is secured, and Li is incarcerated at the nearby maximum-security prison, the Raft. Unfortunately, Spider-Man's relationship with Mary Jane is further strained, leading to her considering ending their friendship, much to Peter's frustration.

In the meantime, Otto obsessed over creating enhanced limbs that exceed the limitations of the human body and work in conjunction with a neural interface, revealing to Peter that he was suffering from a neuromuscular disease that would inevitably immobilize him, and that enhanced limbs would allow him to continue his work when his body fails. Peter warned Otto that the interface could impact his mind and personality. Otto continued its use in secret, overcome with anger at Osborn.

In "Out of the Frying Pan...", Spider-Man was drawn to the Raft by a prison break. He learned that some of his greatest enemies — Li, Electro, Vulture, Rhino, and Scorpion — had escaped. They managed to subdue Spider-Man after a hard fight and presented him to Otto, now calling himself Doctor Octopus. Otto warned the beaten Spider-Man to not interfere, before retaking the Devil's Breath and releasing it in Times Square, causing a mass outbreak; Peter's Aunt May is among those infected. New York descended into chaos while Doctor Octopus and his subordinates attacked Osborn's properties. Osborn declared martial law and blamed Spider-Man for the incident, branding him a fugitive.

In "Picking up the Trail" and "Heavy Hitter", Spider-Man gradually took back the city, defeating Electro, Vulture, Rhino, and Scorpion. In "The Heart of the Matter", Spider-Man, having learned from Mary Jane (who he made amends with after helping saving May and MIles from a fire at F.E.A.S.T) that an antidote to Devil's Breath existed and was possessed by Martin Li, defeated Li and recovered the antidote. However, Doctor Octopus arrived, easily defeating Spider-Man, and escaped with both it and Osborn. Wounded, Peter built himself an armored suit on Mary Jane's advice and confronted Doctor Octopus atop Oscorp Tower in "Pax in Bello", saving Osborn from falling to his death. Otto revealed that he has known Peter's secret identity and the two battled, after which Spider-Man recovered the antidote and defeated Doctor Octopus, tearfully telling the doctor that he was everything Peter wanted to be and was heartbroken by the doctor's descent.

Peter brought the antiserum to Dr. Morgan Michaels, who informed him that while the sample was viable, the dose was only enough for one use, and he would need the entire sample to make enough for others. Knowing that May's condition had progressed too far for her to wait, Peter was faced with either saving May or saving everyone. As he prepared to save May, she revealed that she knew he was Spider-Man and that was proud of him. Ultimately, Peter was forced to let May die, collapsing to his knees and sobbing as she flat-lined. Three months later, New York has returned to normal and Peter and Mary Jane rekindled their relationship. Miles, who was bitten earlier by an experimental Oscorp spider, revealed to Peter that he had gained spider-like powers, prompting Peter to reveal his own secret.

The City That Never Sleeps

In the three-part downloadable content campaign, The City That Never Sleeps, Spider-Man found himself closing in on Felicia Hardy, or Black Cat, his ex-girlfriend, who appeared to be stealing various data drives throughout the city for Maggia mobster Hammerhead. Peter eventually tracked her down and as he confronted her, Felicia told him that Hammerhead was using her son to blackmail her into working for him. Believing her son may be his, Peter convinced her into letting him help, asking that she stall Hammerhead while they look for her son. She claimed that Hammerhead had a massive vault which is where her son would likely be. Spider-Man located the vault and teamed up with Black Cat to take out Hammerhead's men guarding the area. As more Maggia goons arrived, Black Cat made her way to the vault while Spider-Man dealt with them. He then entered the vault to discover that Black Cat had tricked him into helping her rob Hammerhead's main vault and that she never had a son. As Black Cat retreated to her hideout, Spider-Man learned that Hammerhead had rigged it to explode as revenge. Despite his earnest attempts to save her, Black Cat was seemingly killed in the explosion.

Spider-Man assisted Yuri Watanabe, and her team attacked Hammerhead and his gang's base of operations. This resulted in the deaths of many of her officers, with Yuri only surviving because of Spider-Man's intervention. Spider-Man destroyed several of Hammerhead's "businesses" and weapons caches as he tracked him down, learning that he had illegally acquired numerous Sable International weapons and tech and planned to kill the other Maggia dons on live television to gain respect and fear. He found Hammerhead on a construction site and confronted him. However, a vengeful Yuri appeared during the fight and immobilized Spider-Man before proceeding to shoot Hammerhead dead. Unbeknownst to them, he was artificially resurrected by one of his men while his bodybag was being transported to a morgue. Learning that Hammerhead was still alive and has gone into hiding, Spider-Man formed an alliance with Silver Sable, who had returned to New York to reclaim her stolen Sable International tech. After saving one of her agents named David Obademi from some Maggia operatives, he worked with Sable to interrogate Hammerhead's top henchman Tony, who revealed that Hammerhead planned to meet Silver Sable on the rooftop of the Colexco building. This led to an ambush that resulted in Hammerhead nearly killing Spider-Man before Black Cat appeared and saved him; in the ensuing chaos, Hammerhead ran off with Silver Sable. Spider-Man eventually tracked her down to Hammerhead's underground hideout and rescued her. With Sable, he then lured Hammerhead to a Sable International boat where they defeated him.

Spider-Geddon

During a fight against the Tarantula who was robbing a bank in the Financial District, Peter was approached by the Otto Octavius of the Prime Marvel Universe, who in his home reality also sported the moniker of Spider-Man. Octavius requested Peter's presence in a new Superior Spider-Army being reassembled to defeat the returned Inheritors. Before accepting Octavius' solicitation, Peter asked his help to capture Tarantula. Following the villain's defeat, both arachnid heroes shared a moment of familiarity, which stemmed from Peter's admiration for the version of Octavius from his world, and at Octavius' request, Peter showed him footage of his counterpart. Before departing from his home reality, Peter visited both Miles and MJ. Octavius suggested recruiting Miles as well, but Peter opposed the idea, arguing that Miles was too young to come along, and that in case he didn't come back, his world would still have a Spider-Man.

They both have gone to recruit the Spider-Man of Earth-51778, but having to take down a Giant-Monster using the Sword Vigor. Later, all the Superior Spider-Army was assembled. Ben Reilly, a clone from Earth-616's Spider-Man, revealed himself to to them offered his help since he created the cloning technology of New U, the tech used by the Inheritors to make their return. When the Miles Morales of a dead (later revived) universe contacted Otto saying they would attack the Inheritors, who were planing revive Solus, their father, using the New U Tech, right at the Transamerica Pyramid, where New U once operated. Peter and other Spiders rescued their comrades, eventually ending up in another world.

Peter interacted with Miles Morales and a Mary Jane from another universe who married with her Peter Parker, who suggested to not let his Mary Jane go in case she is anything like his Mary Jane. They were approached by Spider-Punk who brought them back to their base. In there, Superior Spider-Man and Spider-Nor-Man, an alternate version of Norman Osborn, had a discussion since he was questioning Otto's leadership and criticizing the Spiders for putting their hopes on a Deus Ex Machina. Because of this, both he and Spiders-Man separated of the team and he declared he would think in a plan, but he was actually going to destroy the Web of Life and Destiny, stopping the travel between dimensions. Ben Reilly decided to offer himself to the Inheritors, since the one who would consume him would be Jennix, the "scientist" of the family, who would absorb his knowledge, and because of the many times he died and was resurrected, it would destroy his maniacal mind. Otto would pretend he double crossed Ben and give him to the Inheritors to leave his world alone. The plan have seemed to work but Otto couldn't leave in time because Peter followed them and believed all the plan was true. Upon Ben being consumed, they attacked Peter and Otto, who apologized for not being the man Peter thought he was, but that perhaps he could something close. Peter said he couldn't control Otto actions, only what he do, which fight the Inheritors. When Solus, now revived, was about to consume them, Miles Morales, now with the power of the Captain Universe, stopped him and they begun to fight. During the final battle between the Inheritors and spiders, many Spider-People from across the Multiverse to help them, including Earth-616's Peter Parker, who ordered the Spider-People to follow Otto's lead, which meant Miles kill Solus, something he did with the Sword Vigor. Upon realizing Solus planted the hunger in his sons, they used the cloning technology to create baby bodies to them and free them from their hunger. The plan worked and Peter returned to his universe, saying to Otto that unlike his Otto, in the end, he did the right thing and that the guy Peter thought he was, he could actually be him if he tries, and told him to take care.

Miles Morales

In "Hold Onto Your Web-Shooters", Peter met Miles atop a tower where they were to help escort Rhino to the raft. After failing to keep Rhino secured, Peter chased Rhino around New York before Rhino eventually beat Peter until he was incapacitated. Miles then discovered he had additional bioelectricity powers and used them to defeat Rhino. After Peter was helped to his feet, Simon Krieger, CEO of Roxxon, arrived with his team to take Rhino into custody and thank them.

After the battle, the two grabbed a pizza on a nearby rooftop and discussed Miles' newfound powers. Miles wished to test his new powers, but Peter told him he was set to leave New York to travel to Symkaria with Mary Jane. Peter gave Miles encouragement and made him take a "Spider-Man oath", then leaving behind a suit as a Christmas present as well as several hologram training stations around the city.

After hearing about the Braithwaite Bridge explosion following "Time to Rally", Peter called Miles to tell him he was looking at flights to New York, though Miles responded that he could handle it. Peter trusted Miles and stayed in Symkaria until the end of the trip, lamenting the fact that are over "seven different words for bathroom" in Symkaria after Miles encouraged him to learn their native language.

Four weeks after the fall of Roxxon and Underground, thanks to Aaron Davis's testimony, Peter have return to New York. Peter is proud of Miles for finally learn about what it means to be a Spider-Man. After the epilogue, Peter told Miles he was not going to swing directly behind him anymore, trusting him on his own. Peter also told Miles that he and MJ bought and moved into Aunt May's old home in Queens, with Peter taking time away from Spider-Man duty to make home renovations and find a new job. Miles suggested Peter becoming a teacher at ESU, which he considered.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Spider Physiology: After getting bitten by a radiation-infused spider, Peter Parker attained the proportionate powers and capabilities of a spider. The bite initiated a complex and sophisticated body-wide metamorphosis deriving from the mutagenic enzymes of the radiation-inculcated spider, altering his physiology and consequently granting him superhuman abilities and newfound heightened senses. In subsequent years, it seems that Peter has grown more accustomed to his powers with a higher level of comprehension and effective utilization than prior years.

  • Superhuman Strength: Following the spider bite, Peter acquired considerable superhuman strength, superior to that of even the brawniest human, thereby enabling him to accomplish spectacular feats such as terminating car chases in numerous occasions by casually throwing the rampaging automobile up a few feet off the ground and then catching it almost effortlessly after dispatching the hostiles operating it. His strength was also more than sufficient enough to throw him head-on against the formidable and overwhelming burliness of Wilson Fisk. Notably, as seen in the mission The Main Event, Spider-Man's raw strength empowers him to successfully lift a portion of concrete roof to save the civilians trapped underneath. Other impressive feats of his strength include, pulling back the entire structure of a collapsing construction crane; taking down average criminals with one punch; easily yanking multiple turrets off their support pillars and hurling them around with only a single strand of web attached; prying open tightly shut, metal doors with ease and exchanging blows with the indomitable Dr Octopus. Although Spider-Man's bio states that he can lift up to 10 tons, he has demonstrated to be competent enough to press lift way more than that, as he was able to snag the rear of a falling semi-trailer truck and slowly pull it back up onto the road platform with his webbing before it could collapse onto the train track underneath.
  • Superhuman Endurance: Due to the massively augmented density and solidity of his musculature fibers, tissues and his skeleton, Peter's anatomy is significantly more resilient and durable against most types of injury compared to a normal human. As a result, this has allowed him to withstand vigorous amounts of impact from the powerful blasts of electric shock generated and released from Herman Schultz's specialized gauntlets to blows from the combined might of the Sinister Six. Spider-Man's toughened flesh has also permitted him to endure collisions that would otherwise pulverize an average human, like the smashing impact from a construction crane hook which sent him soaring, briefly incapacitated before fully regaining conscious quickly only seconds later.
  • Superhuman Speed: Spider-Man's physique is highly adapted to the rigors of high speed running. His cardiovascular and respiratory systems are many more times efficient than those of an average healthy human being as he metabolizes a higher content of caloric energy. In fact, the chemical processes of his musculature are so highly advanced that his body does not generate fatigue poisons like lactic acid to accumulate in his muscle tissues so they can keep contracting more efficiently for 34 hours on end without hindrance. Therefore, Spider-Man has demonstrated to be more than quick enough to catch up to accelerating automobiles and bullets on foot (although his preference is inclined to web slinging), run up tall buildings in a matter of seconds, and move faster than the naked eye can follow, even appearing, disappearing and reappearing as a blur. Spider-Man was also able to easily outrun Rhino, charging at full speed.
  • Superhuman Agility: Spider-Man's agility, balance and bodily coordination are all enhanced to high levels way beyond the peak of human potential. His bones, muscles and joints are twice as elastic than the average human which, combined with his great strength, allows him to jump great distances and heights and perform graceful acrobatic maneuvers with no difficulty whatsoever.
  • Superhuman Reflexes: Thanks to his inhuman agility and speed, Peter's reflexes are similarly augmented 50 times greater than the average human. He has shown to be able to react to projectiles such as bullets and missiles with ease and dodge attacks from superhuman individuals such as Scorpion.
  • Superhuman Equilibrium: Spider-Man possesses a rapidly magnified sense of physiological balance, refining his equipoise and stability. He is able to achieve a state of balance on virtually any point, no matter how small or unstable with incredible ease and masterful adjustment.
  • Superhuman Stamina: Spider-Man's physiology allows him to go for days without food or sleep. He can exert himself to his peak performance for up to a day, before the fatigue toxins in his muscles begin to mar and impair him.
  • Regenerative Healing Factor: Spider-Man's enhanced physiology has a rapid regenerative factor. Spider-Man regenerated his eyesight upon getting his powers. When his body is breached, his outer layer forms a wound epidermis that releases growth factors to stimulate nearby cells. His body is able to reprogram fibroblasts, which are crucial to revitalization, to become "blastema", a ball of stem cells, which are in turn capable of dividing and differentiating to give regeneration to skin, bones, blood vessels, etc. Spider-Man's healing capabilities are accelerated thanks in large to his incredible control of his oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes. As a result, his mutate genes can speed up the activity of his oncogenes to accelerate the regeneration process after temporarily deactivating his tumor suppressor genes, permitting him to rapidly heal most wounds in a couple of hours. After suffering multiple scars and bruises to his face and being impaled by Doctor Octopus, Peter was able to rapidly heal throughout the following the following days. He was also able to quickly recover fourteen broken bones while simultaneously fighting crime and recover from it next day. He has even healed from crippling injuries such as being slashed open by the Kingpin using a katana, although he did require medical attention, and healed a broken leg from Tombstone, He has also healed from being ejected with the Scorpion's neurotoxin. He also possesses an extraordinary immune system, as he is able to tolerate Scorpion's newly enhanced hallucinogenic neurotoxin for an extraordinary amount of time before it does any permanent damage.
  • Wall-Crawling: Spider-Man is capable of walking on walls and hanging from ceilings with the help of micro-/nano-scale hierarchical fibrils (setae) situated all across his epidermis. As this unique fibrillar feature of his dermis allows him to develop an intimate contact with the substrate that he is walking on or clinging to, it is expected that the setae exchange significant numbers of electric charges with the contacted substrate via the contact electrification (CE) phenomenon. More importantly, it is the CE-driven electrostatic attractions which dictate the strength of Spider-Man's adhesion. These CE-driven electrostatic attractions are mentally controlled by his mutagenic altered cerebellum, which affects his engrams and therefore initiates the capacity of manipulating the flux of his CE-driven electrostatic attractions between various molecular boundary levels. As an advantageous result, in the intimate contact of seta-substrate, eliminating CE-generated electrostatic forces by air ionization is physically impractical, simply because air ions cannot penetrate the conscious controlled contact interface in order to dissipate surface charges, or in simpler terms it is nearly impossible to prevent Spider-Man from adhering to surfaces. These setae, however, are more densely concentrated in his fingers and feet which therefore permit the prevalence of scaling a structure with his feet or hands effortlessly, even sprinting across New York's skyscrapers.
  • Enhanced Senses: Spider-Man's senses are greatly enhanced
    • Spider-Sense: Attributed as an extrasensory ability, the spider-sense refers to a precognitive ability to sense immediate danger, a kind of "sixth sense" ascribed to Spider-Man. The "spider-sense" is represented as a prickling sensation emanating from the base of Spider-Man's skull whilst simultaneously apprising him to personal danger in proportion to the severity of that danger. It thus implies some kind of intelligence, capable of parsing Spider-Man's surroundings, identifying and critically evaluating a potential threat at seemingly pre- or sub-conscious level operation and furnishing this information instantaneously to his conscious mind. However, both the temporal and spatial dimensions of his spider-sense are ambiguous, as it is represented alternately as functioning at close range and apparently within "normal" time, aiding Spider-Man to escape machine guns in combat, or avoid a police ambush and as working across immense distances. Provided with his extraordinary speed and wall-crawling, the spider-sense permits Spider-Man to evade all manner of spontaneous dangers by an evidently instinctual exercise of some uncanny reflex. In Don't Touch the Art, after Spider-Man recently subdued a couple of Inner Demons, he sensed someone coming his way, and without hesitating, immediatly went to hide. The connection between the spider-sense and his superhuman reflexes is such that his spider-sense can even trigger a reaction when Spider-Man is temporarily stunned, such as by how he is briefly immobilized by a construction crane hook in the mission Straw Meet Camel, only to promptly regain conscious and instinctively steady himself. Later his Spider-Sense helped him locate Mary Jane being held at gunpoint by Charles Standish. Furthermore, his spider-sense outwardly possesses a directional component and can guide him to or away from concealed or disguised danger and enemies. This is demonstrated in And the Award Goes to... by the spontaneous tingling of his spider-sense in a dense crowd, allowing him to anticipate Mister Negative's transformation, by slowly shifting his position to the direction of the event. Despite being an invaluable asset to his powers, he is still susceptible to attack, should he let himself be distracted or not have sufficient time to elude the attack.
      • Radio Frequency Detection: While still in high school, Spider-Man's aptitude in science helped him to discover a way to track his villains using a device of his own design called the Spider-Tracer. A Spider-Tracer is a tiny electronic device that is programmed to emit a radio signal. His spider-sense is capable of picking up frequencies emitted by the Spider-Tracer and let it guide him to his object of interest. It will buzz louder the closer he gets to the tracer.
    • Enhanced Vision: Spider-Man's vision has been amplified to superhuman levels (rectified by his regenerative healing capabilities), leading him to relinquish the use of his spectacles a long time ago. His field of vision has been augmented with impeccable clarity and infallible detail enabling him to effectively exploit the full extent of his web shooters to be a proficient marksman as well as notice things other people fail to observe.

Abilities

  • Genius-Level Intellect: For the most part of his life, Peter has always been an overzealous enthusiast of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science and engineering with his expertise viewed as virtually peerless by many. Indeed, his intelligence allowed him to be submitted as a lab scientist into Oscorp, one of the most highly sought famous scientifically advanced corporations in the world with their arrays of scientific pioneering always ahead of the curve. Dr. Octavius, who is a tremendous supergenius himself, has confidently remarked that Peter possesses an impressive intellect, his originality exceeding for graduates his age. Mary Jane has also stated that he is a brilliant scientist when Peter expresses a desire to become a chef. Furthermore, Peter possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biophysics, with his thesis of neurotechnology earning him a job as a research assistant with Otto at Octavius Industries. Peter admits that during his first application interview with Otto, he felt as if he were incompetent and out of his league.
    • Expert Scientist: Peter Parker is an immensely skilled genius scientist, a wunderkind prodigy, being extremely skilled and knowledgeable in a wide range of scientific fields. Thus, he was able to win the Fisk Science Prize during his sophomore years, he later gained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biophysics, he wrote a thesis of neurotechnology which earned him a job as a research assistant with Dr. Octavius at Octavius Industries, he swiftly theorized the possible ways that Mr. Negative's sword was charged (suggesting bio-electric induction or compressed phase shifting) and swiftly predicted that Dr. Octavius would lose control of all his motor functions within a year, just from taking a glance at a board of pictures. Indeed, despite having permanently left Oscorp, Mary Jane Watson claimed they would hire him back in a "heartbeat" as all it took was simply just "one phone call to Harry".
    • Expert Engineer: Peter Parker is an exceptionally skilled genius engineer, a wunderkind prodigy. During his fledgling career, he was able to create personal devices like the Web-Shooter, Spider-Tracer, Spider-Signal and "Vulture Jammer". Spider-Man also used his engineering prowess to rectify his mistakes of the past to prepare for the future, such as incorporating insulation into his costume to safely combat Electro without getting electrocuted and shock-absorption defences against the Shocker, in addition to upgrading his eye lenses after scrutinizing Mysterio's sturdy helmet and defeating Rhino after examining a broken fragment of the latter's nigh-indestructible horn. As an adult, Peter's engineering skills became even that much more formidable as he (alongside Otto) invented various types of advanced spider-like gadgets to aid him in his operations, such as the Spider-Drone, Web Bombs, Trip Mine and Suspension Matrix and improved upon his Web-Shooters by integrating Electric and Impact Webbing as well as the Concussive Blast. He was also able to design and produce multiple technologically advanced suits (equipped with built-in headsets, earpieces, cameras and radios whilst remaining odor- and scent-free when wearing the suits), with finesse and ease, each perpetuating its own unique ability, owing to his expertise in material design. He is currently aspiring to create a fabric that can warp light and sound waves, believing that a stealth suit would be invaluable.
    • Expert Hacker: Spider-Man is able to easily hack into Kingpin's server in mere moments, even mocking the lack of upgrades present in their security, notwithstanding the latter confidently and arrogantly proclaiming that it isn't possible. He is even able to hack into Oscorp and Norman Osborn's personal computer.

Peter also uses Parkour movements, a physical discipline in which practitioners to aim move quickly and efficiently using their bodies and the environment. Parkour can be thought of as the flight response where as a martial art could be considered a fight response. His whole fighting style is based around the form of martial arts with the hero staying low and mobile while utilizing the momentum of frequent spins to come crashing down on to his opponents. Spider-Man also owes a portion of his moves to professional wrestling as well, specifically to lucha libre, most likely deriving from his early days as a professional wrestler during his first public display of power (albeit still under a disguise). Several specific moves have also been noted in his fights, such as dropsaults, scissor takedowns, reverse frankensteiners, and the famous hurricanrana. It is part of his lucha libre combat style, that allows him to take down enemies even those who are several times his size while dispatching several enemies at once with high flying moves.

Traumatized by his uncle's death, he established a vow of responsibility that has taken him down a righteous and heroic road of humanitarian service despite the overwhelming trouble and calamity that it brought upon him. In addition, due to his selfless and heroic nature, he is able to overcome strong emotional attachments for the greater good by how he selflessly opts to have the Devil's Breath cure manufactured and distributed out wide and save more lives rather than use it on his dying Aunt May, the most important parental figure in his life. This is also shown in how Peter is able to resist Mister Negative's attempts to corrupt him.
