Secret Empire is comic book crossover event published by Marvel Comics that is set to begin publication in April 2017.
The event focus on Captain America as he uses the trust and respect he has gained over the years to help the terrorist organization known as HYDRA begin their conquest of the world following the aftermath of the second superhero civil war.
Publication History[]
The event was first teased on January 6, 2017 as part of a tweet posted through Marvel Comics' official Twitter account.
It wasn't until February 10, 2017 that the event was officially announced on ABC's morning news segment as part of an interview with current Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso and Civil War II editor Tom Brevoort.

The Marvel Universe is under siege from within! Due to the manipulations of the Red Skull, Captain America, secretly a true believer in the cause of Hydra, uses the trust and respect he has gained over the years to a position where he can enacts Hydra’s ideals against the Marvel Universe and it’s up to all heroes to unite against one of the greatest challenges they have ever faced.
