Plot[]
One night, a villain by the name of Norton G. Fester (A.K.A. Looter) is enacting a break-in at the Dail Bugle, however he is intercepted by the new her, the Hornet.
The Hornet is a new superhero alias taken on by Peter Parker (Spider-Man) in order to continue his hero work while trying to clear his name due to being framed for various crimes leading to a bounty being placed on him. Spider-Man was given the Hornet's equipment (Such as a jet pack) by Hobie Brown.
The Hornet and Looter begin to fight, attracting the attention of Flash Thompson who was working late. Looter attempts to hold Flash hostage; however, the Hornet is able to distract Looter, freeing Flash. Flash takes hold of Looter's gun and notices something strange about it, siting that the rock powering the gun isn't even a rock. However, before he can comment on this further, the three are interrupted by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, with the Hornet successfully taking Looter down with sedatives.
Earlier that night, Peter shows off his new Hornet suit to M.J. and takes her flying in the sky. They start to fall after being hit by a flock of birds, but M.J. was able to remove the Hornet's gauntlet, allowing him to use his web shooters to get them to safety.
Elsewhere, Peter's coworker, Billy Walters, is waiting for him, but catches sight of the Vulture (Adrain Toomes) flying above, looking for Spider-Man, and decides to leave the area.
Back in the present, the Hornet is being thanked and interviewed by the news for stopping Looter, including by Norman Osborn. The Hornet makes a remark about nobody needing to worry about Spider-Man anymore and takes off after a few more questions.
Meanwhile, Vulture is watching the news report about the Hornet and takes note about his Spider-Man comment. Thinking the Hornet has killed or incapacitated Spider-Man, Vulture becomes enraged, deciding that the Hornet will now pay with his life for robbing Vulture of his revenge against Spider-Man.
