Tarantula (of Earth-1610) is a clone of Peter Parker created by Otto Octavius and Ben Reilly for the FBI.
History[]
Otto Octavius and Ben Reily were assigned to create an army of super-soldiers. They decided to use Spider-Man’s DNA to create clones that would possess all of his powers. One of the clones was Tarantula, who they had altered greatly by amplifying the spider genes inside of him. Possessing venomous fangs, spiky hair and six arms, Tarantula was considered a failure and passed over in favor of a female spider-clone, Spider-Woman. When Spider-Woman escaped the facility, so did the other clones. Tarantula tried to be a hero, but was ultimately slain by Otto Octavius.
