"I am Thor, God of Thunder. Son of Odin and half-brother to the wretched Loki, God of Mischief." |
Thor Odinson (of Earth-1610), also known as Thorlief Golmen, is the son of Odin, brother of Loki and Balder, the father of Modi, a founding member of the Ultimates.
History[]
Thor is the living embodiment of Valhalla, and in ancient times he was worshipped as the God of Thunder by the Norse. Thor combats the many evils that threaten humanity as a superhero and as both a political and social activist.
Life on Earth[]

While in exile, Thor believed himself to be human - specifically, a psychiatric nurse named Thorlief Golmen, until he suffered a nervous breakdown before his 30th birthday and began having "delusions" of Asgard. He was later pleased to learn of a half-brother named "Gunnar", who helped draft him into a project at a complex called "The Dome".
The Dome, located in Brussels, was trying to recreate the Super Soldier serum that created Captain America, much like the Americans, with little luck. They opted to go the Bio-Mechanical route instead and created a harness and power-belt that provided the wearer the with the abilities of flight, super-strength, and limited Invulnerability. Thorlief Golmen, selected as the test subject, was fitted with the Suit. During the testing process, however, he started ranting about how he now believed he was actually the Norse God of Thunder, Thor. He was institutionalized as the delusions worsened.
