Spectacular Spider-Man "Survival of the Fittest" Review
Hello everyone, I am back to start a series of reviews on the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series. I doubt that you want to be bored with a long introduction, so let's just get right to the subject matter at hand.
- Note: This is an old review from before I got my established format. Next review will be back to normal*
Let's start by going through the episode bit by bit:
- I enjoyed the little scene of Flint Marko and Alex O'Hirn being captured at the beginning, as it was nice to see them cameo before they become the big-bad supervillains that they are meant to.
- Peter's character really shined in the all of the bits where he was concerned with helping his Aunt May. It showed what a kind, compassionate, responsible man he has become. It was also g…

Ultimate Spider-Man "Spidah-Man" Review
- 1 Details:
- 2 Review:
- 2.1 Pros:
- 2.2 Cons:
- 2.3 Final Thoughts:
- Written by: Man of Action and Jimmy Palmiotti
- Directed by: Roy Burdine
- Release Date: March 24, 2013
- Solid animation
- The villains being references to old American history was a nice reference and throwback. It really makes the show seem to be more real, while still maintaining that fantastic quality that makes it a superhero cartoon.
- The theme of talking out our feelings over violence was well-done.
- Breaking the fourth wall/Mighty Mugg animation.
- This thing was a freaking toy commercial. From spider-tanks to spider-copters, I have no doubt that the reason this episode was made in the first place was to advertise up and coming Spidey merchandise. It couldn't be more obvious.
- The entire idea of…

Ultimate Spider-Man "The Sinister Six" Review
- 1 Details:
- 2 Review:
- 2.1 Pros:
- 2.2 Cons:
- 2.3 Final Thoughts:
- Written by: Man of Action and Scott Mosier
- Directed by: Tim Maltby
- Release Date: February 17, 2013
- Solid animation
- The Sinister Six were very well-done all around. From the specific members to the interactions between them, everyone got a moment to shine along with at least one funny moment, which was nice to see. The tension between the villains was very well-done, as it is apparent that they may not be quite fond of each other, yet want to work together for a common goal; destroying Spider-Man.
- Furthermore, I found Doc Ock's portrayal to be a particular stand-out in this episode. He really seemed like he knew precisely what he was doing and knew how to lead a group of supervillains for …

Ultimate Spider-Man "Hawkeye" Review
- 1 Details:
- 2 Review:
- 2.1 Pros:
- 2.2 Cons:
- 2.3 Final Thoughts:
- Written by: Man of Action and Scott Mosier
- Directed by: Phil Pignotti
- Release Date: February 10, 2013
- Gorgeous animation
- I liked that Hawkeye was portrayed closer to the movie version of himself, both in design and attitude. He seemed to be a more laid-back, cool kind of Hawkeye, which is exactly how I viewed Hawkeye during The Avengers. Plus, the fact that he called Spidey out on why he has a cycle gains him points in my book. Finally, someone noticed.
- The "spider-friends" were absent for the majority of the episode, which is always a good thing. I always feel like hose characters wear Spidey down and steal the spotlight from him, so not having them in the episode was a nice little plus.
- Bre…

Ultimate Spider-Man "Kraven The Hunter" Review
- 1 Details:
- 2 Review:
- 2.1 Pros:
- 2.2 Cons:
- 2.3 Final Thoughts:
- Written by: Man of Action & Danielle Wolff
- Directed by: Roy Burdine
- Release Date: February 3, 2013
- Solid animation
- The relationship between White Tiger and Spider-Man was at its peak in this episode, as was the White Tiger herself. She truly came off as a bada**, yet empathetic character, what with the backstory of her father and everything, The way her relationship with Spider-Man became almost like a cross between mentor-mentee and father-daughter kind of thing was very well-done.
- The relationship between White Tiger and Kraven was also very well done. You could truly feel the tension and hate emanating from White Tiger every time she and Kraven were within a few yards of each other. Plu…
