Superior Spider-Man Issue 8 Review

    • 2.2 Cons:
    • 2.3 Final Thoughts:

  • The idea of a "magic helmet" was very cute and made me feel genuine sympathy for that poor child in need of medical help.
  • Otto actually helping the girl and showing compassion actually helped build his character and provide a new level of empathy that had previously not been present.
  • The new alliance between Otto and Cardiac was very nicely played, and I definitely approve of it.
  • It appears the story of Carlie having suspicions of Otto in Parker's body is not completely dead, as she is seen working on the theory in her home. This is good as it draws some necessary drama to the story.

  • Otto in Parker's b…

Ultimate Spider-Man "Electro" Review

  • 1 Details:
  • 2 Review:
    • 2.1 Pros:
    • 2.2 Cons:
    • 2.3 Final Thoughts:

  • Written by: Man of Action & Eugene Son
  • Directed by: Phil Pignotti
  • Release Date: January 21, 2013

  • Animation was solid once again. Movements were smooth and models were solid.
  • The way Electro was defeated was actually kind of smart, and actually made some semblance of sense. That is always a good thing.

  • Breaking of the fourth wall/Mighty Mugg animation was as stupid as ever.
  • Every single character in this episode was annoying and stupid, and I mean more than usual. I don't know what it was that made this happen, but every single character got on my nerves while I was watching the episode. Yes that includes Spider-Man. That is not good. When Spidey, the star of the show, gets on my nerves, then…

Ultimate Spider-Man "The Lizard" Review

  • 1 Details:
  • 2 Review:
    • 2.1 Pros:
    • 2.2 Cons:
    • 2.3 Final Thoughts:

  • Written by: Man of Action & Jacob Semahn
  • Directed by: Roy Burdine
  • Release Date: January 21, 2013

  • The animation was just as beautiful as ever. If nothing else, this is the best looking Spidey show ever made.
  • The origin of the Lizard was nice, as it was Connors attempting to save Spider-Man. That showed that Connors is a compassionate, caring person who is willing to risk everything for others. That is a very fantastic quality and one of the reasons I like the character.

  • Once again, the breaking of the fourth-wall/Mighty Muggs animation was as annoying as ever. Honestly, what is the point of it? We don't need Spidey to commentate on everything. Just do it as his own internal monologue; there's…

Ultimate Spider-Man "The Man-Wolf" Review

  • 1 Details:
  • 2 Review:
    • 2.1 Pros:
    • 2.2 Cons:
    • 2.3 Final Thoughts:

  • Written by: Man of Action & G. Danielle Wolff
  • Directed by: Roy Burdine
  • Release Date: April 14, 2013

  • Solid, gorgeous animation. On top of that, there was absolutely zero Mighty Mugg animation. That's a definite plus.
  • John Jameson was portrayed very well. He was very much like his comic counterpart in that he was nothing like his father and showed appreciation for Spider-Man. On top of that, the Man-Wolf was also very faithful to the comics in that his design looked very much like the original, and his origin was exactly the same.
  • For once, the spider-friends were not annoying, and they were actually decent enough to watch. It's always nice when annoying characters take a break from being annoyi…

Superior Spider-Man Issue 6 Review

  • 1 Details:
  • 2 Review:
    • 2.1 Pros:

  • 3 Exclusive Review

  • The art was well-done once again. I specifically want to point out the scene at the end with a beaten-up Jester and Screwball. The art on that particular page was so well-done that you could clearly make out all of the damage that had been inflicted to them.
  • The anti-bullying theme in the issue was well-done. I liked that Otto managed to prove that he can have empathy for others, which improves his character quite a bit in my books.
  • It's a very good thing that the Avengers are finally noticing a difference in Spider-Man. One of my biggest problem with the series is that not enough people have been noti…
